Vintage Original Italian MASI Volumetrica Road frame

Description

This frame was a recent trade in at Milano Sport in Greenwich, Ct. It was originally painted Masi Ferrari Red with chrome chain stay, fork tops and fork crown, which was removed. Frame was chemically stripped, bead blasted, resprayed by a professional restoration shop with multiple coats, wet sanded and clear coated over the period correct decals. It measures 55 cm. center to top with 54 cm. top tube, and 41 cm. length chain stays. Seat post size is 27.2. Uses braze-on front derailleur. Rear spacing is 130 mm. Threaded fork column for normal height Campy or similar threaded headset. Frame was just prepped with Campy tools and checked for alignment which is spot on. New dropout screws and seat binder bolt not shown here will be mounted prior to shipment. Milano Sport, as the long time purveyor of Alberto Masi's frames, can attest to the fact that this the genuine article from the Velodromo Vigorelli in Milan, Italy. It is not one of the fake Voumetrica frames built by Masi USA or one from Mondonico's workshop in Italy. This is evidenced by the bottom bracket shell and seat stay caps which are exclusive to the Vigorelli. This frame is from the early 1990s and sports Excell tubing from Isadora Rezze in France. Down tube is 31.4 mm. diameter and top and seat tube measure 28.6 mm. Internal lugs, fork crown, and bottom bracket shell by Microfusione-Italiana. Genuine Masi 3V frames are ow more collectible than ever as production ceased in the early 2000s. Price listed is for frame, fork, and fittings listed above.
