Description
Classic Italian MOSER frame, 56cm (center of bottom bracket to top of top tube), with carbon front fork, Campagnolo headset. Made in Italy by "Moser Cicli", bicycle manufacturer headed by Francesco Moser, legendary bike racer, winner of World Championships Road Race, Giro d'Italia and Paris Roubaix multiple times. Moser also held the World Hour Record for many years. Moser's frames are unique for being fillet brazed using silver solder - rather than using lugs with brass brazing; silver never gets hot enough to weaken the tubing and thus bicycles constructed in this manner have increased strength and reduced weight. After brazing each frame is hand filed and aligned on a digital alignment table. The smooth lines resulting from no lugs are emphasized with a unicrown fork and integrated seatpost and
the vertical drop-outs are adjustable. "
Moser frames are iconic, stylish and fast." The frame paint is gorgeous, a lush cobalt blue, but there are a few dings on face of the carbon front fork. Pre-owned, good condition, but not perfect.
This rare Moser frame is offered by former bike store owner for 15 years,
specializing in Italian road bikes, including Benotto, Bianchi, Battaglin, Bottechia, Colnago, Marinoni - to name a few, and a proud Campagnolo dealer, too, (1984-1998). Custom road bikes were virtually always equipped with Campagnolo components, including our racing team frames. This former store owner (lifelong cyclist, and 'Campy' aficionado), now downsizing, so must let go of old store inventory, goodies from his personal collection, including this special frame (bought due to it's Italian heritage, great touches, etc. - but frame sizing was off (it was a bit too big for me).
