On 'Buy-it-Now' auction is a Schwinn Super Sport frame & kickstand only, ready for your custom road bike build. Schwinn calls the color Sunset Orange, I'd call it 'burned orange marmalade'. I notice magic marker on the bottom bracket reading '8-73', apparently indicating it is a 1973 model. The finish has seen better days but looking it over I notice no dings, dents or bends, just some scratches and dirt. All of the braze-ons such as the various cable stops are intact. Center of crank to the top of top frame tube measures 24.5" Add 1.5" to the top of the seat tube for what Schwinn called a 26" frame height. There are no returns for any reason.
The main tubes of these higher end Chicago built filet brazed frames were constructed of chrome moly straight guage tubing making them much lighter than most of the Schwinn bicycle lineup. When the Sports Tourer model came along in 1971 during the early 1970's 'Bike Boom' the Super Sport model was stepped back a bit and changed from Huret forged rear wheel dropouts to plain stamped steel as this frame has.
