On 'Buy-it-Now' auction is a Schwinn Sports Tourer frame, fork & kickstand only, ready for your custom road bike build. The color is a first year and only year color for this new for 1971 model. Schwinn called the color 'Burgundy' but I would call it 'magenta'. The finish has seen better days but looking it over I notice no dings, dents or bends, just scratched up paint and decals that don't belong. All of the braze-ons such as the various cable stops are intact. Center of crank to the top of top frame tube measures 22.5" Add 1.5" to the top of the seat tube for what Schwinn called a 24" frame height. There are no returns for any reason.
The main tubes of these higher end Chicago built filet brazed frames were constructed of chrome moly straight guage tubing making them much lighter than most of the Schwinn bicycle lineup. I believe this frame is an early production item as it has Campagnolo rear dropouts. Most later models had Huret or Nervar dropouts. I have other Schwinn filet brazed Superior, Sports Tourer and Super Sport frames that I'll be posting so if there's a model/color/year you're looking for please ask.
