Door
material is a Aluminum Composite board.  This is light weight, weather resistant, non warping and naturally cleaning.  Material is typically used for outdoor signs.  Plywood backing board shown in the picture is not included due to shipping costs.  The door kit includes the sliding door and 8 rails.  The rails are the same material that is stacked 3 on each side to create the guide rails.  The standard door measures 8 inches wide and 11 inches tall.  Customized door sizes are available.  Contact seller to discuss your needs.
Solar Kits
include a  door and rails, clock timer, linear actuator, DPDT relay, battery, waterproof battery box and 10 watt solar panel with all the necessary hardware.   These kits do not come fully assembled. The relay and clock are pre-wired and tested prior to shipping.  Some parts, typically the battery and solar panel for these kits are shipped direct from individual suppliers separate from hardware and parts sent from the seller.  Often the battery will arrive prior to the rest of the kit.  The solar panel usually arrives the same day as the kit but can arrive within a few more days.
The battery is a 12 volt motorcycle battery.  This inexpensive, high quality battery fits neatly into the battery box and will completely recharge daily with the solar panel.
Smaller, less expensive batteries will not fully recharge daily and not work in below freezing temperatures.
Larger car batteries and marine batteries are not cost efficient for this application.
The linear actuator has a 10 inch stroke and 200 pounds of lift torque.  It can be installed vertically or horizontally.  Inside or outside of the coop.
The biggest advantage of hand made opening kits is the ability to replace parts should the item fail to work properly.  Parts are inexpensive,  easy to access and change.  Contrast this feature to other openers that would be thrown away and replaced when failed.
